OCT. 26: WEDDING DAY: THE RECEPTION
Sing till you drop
Another twist on Chinese tradition: an American-style reception. (OK, it's held in a karaoke palace, but the idea is the same.) Along with dancing and karaoke there's a cake -- and what wedding is complete without a ceremonial sword?
HIGHLIGHTS
  * Robbie tells the crowd that at American weddings, it's a tradition for EVERYONE to dance -- and he gets every single person in the room to join him.
  * Vicki notes proudly that all of the songs skipped on the dance CD burned the night before are the ones Robbie picked.
  * Donald and Vicki wow the crowd with their karaoke version of "Like a Cirgin," with Vicki trying not to be distracted by the typo and Donald equally disturbed by the images on the KTV screen of practically prebuscent young girls cavorting through meadows as the lyrics bounce by.
  * Bob dancing the merengue with Sam's mother, while her mother's best friend pulls Olga out onto the dance floor.
Left, one of Samantha's "boyfriends-in-law" belts it out at the karaoke machine. Above, how do you wash the sword after you cut the cake?
