Will Albritton never travels without his trusty rainbow flag.
Fresno's annual gay-pride parade attracts an
enthusiastic turnout along Olive Avenue, and this
year's was no exception. Below, yes, you can actually
see a parade banner reflected in Wendi Fikes'
sunglasses. Ain't that a photographic feat?
Shane and Wendi stake out
a spot in front of Cafe
Rousseau for the parade.
Below, parade participants
include a man in a cage
dancing. (How's that for a
marketable job skill?)
Above, Kathy Adams walks the parade route. Ahead of them,
above right, is Kathy's partner, Robin McGehee, with their son,
Sebastian.
Matt Thompson puts on his
fresnobee.com hat and
interviews parade participants
celebrating their first wedding
anniversary.
Above, Matt practices his on-the-scene
live shot. Below, Will Albritton practices
his, um, ability to endure pain. (How's
THAT for a marketable job skill?)
After the parade, Donald, Wendi, Will
and Shane hit Sequoia for a quick
lunch. Below, Will asks Shane to
document the moment for his photo
blog. (The result is at the left.) You
can check out Will's blog at
http://willphoto.blogspot.com.
Diane Blair enjoys the festival after
the parade while husband Jerry,
left, wonders if he'll be injured as
she positions a pride pin.
Shane, above, hangs out with Meta Schettler.
(The wild rainbow wig isn't hers; it just looks
that way.) Right, who can resist taking a photo
of a baby and a puppy together?
Wendi hangs out with an interesting
crowd. Below, Shane and Elena at the
festival Bottom, all pride celebrations must
come to an end: Will packs up his rainbow
flag in his back pocket and calls it a day.
