January 2007: Like birds flying south for
the winter, Shane and I set our sights on
warmer climes for the new year: the
Caribbean. For 11 days our home is the
m.s. Volendam, an elegant ship of the
Holland America line featuring two
swimming pools, a gracious staff and
quite possibly the best soup in the world.
(OK, so the desserts were pretty good,
too.) On the following pages you'll find an
account of our sun-drenched adventure.
