January 2005: Life in and around Fresno
A night at the opera: Donald, Diana
and Das check out the splendor of the
Saroyan in a performance of "Gianni
Schicchi" and "Pagliacci." (If Diana had
to redo her hair after getting bumped
from behind one more time she would
have blurted out her own aria.)

A late January visit from Mom and Dad
includes yogurt at Fashion Fair,
checking out Fresno's gas prices and
a great Mediterranean dinner.
Left, Hanging out at the Golden
Chinese restaurant. Below,
digital-camera weirdness.
A night of theater: Donald, Diana, Das, Will, Carrie and Matt
dined at the Daily Planet (OK, so we had to sit by the door;
so much for Donald's clout) and then headed across the
street for the Good Company Players performance of "I Love
You, You're Perfect, Now Change."
Top, Diana Marcum returns to the table after an impromptu
up-from-the-table story in the Daily Planet. Above right, Carrie Morris
and, above, Diana, Das Standridge and Matt Thompson wait for the
performance to begin.
Above, Diana is determined to get a photo of Das
smiling. And she succeeds, but only after Will
Albritton makes a crack about -- well, just what
did you say, Will? Right, Matt just before rushing
the stage and entreating the audience to raise its
hands toward heaven after he is spiritually
moved by the show's faux gospel number. Below,
sure, there are lots of groups that attend Roger
Rocka's. But how many have their photos taken
by the production's director?
